This update has been a long time coming. Over the past year, our work has evolved much faster than our website did. Rather than making small changes along the way, we decided to step back and rethink how we tell our story.

I also want to express my gratitude to all of the contributors to this redesign over the past few months (especially my translators) allowing us to release this in time for our August 1st anniversary.

If you've visited Project Gerson before, you'll notice that things look a little different. Over the past year, we've spent a great deal of time thinking about what Project Gerson should become. We've listened to children, families, educators, community partners, and our neighbors. We've asked questions, tested ideas, changed our minds, and learned from both successes and mistakes. Through that process, our understanding of our mission and the principles that guide our work has become much clearer.

This website is the result of that journey. While we've certainly redesigned the website, the most important changes aren't visual. They're conceptual. The words, programs, and ideas you'll find here reflect a year of learning and a clearer understanding of who we are, how we work, and what we hope to contribute.

You'll notice a greater emphasis on understanding before action, thoughtful program design, and sharing what we're learning along the way. You'll also find fewer stories centered on individuals and more about the ideas, questions, and experiences that shape our work. Individual stories remain important, but our goal is to use them to illustrate broader lessons rather than define the organization.

We don't see this website as a finished product. Like Project Gerson itself, it will continue to evolve as we learn. We hope it offers a clearer picture of our work today and where we're headed in the years ahead.

Michael
